Ryan Lamfers Art

My work emerges from the contradictions of a world both natural and industrial. It reflects my experiences in nature alongside my fascination with industry and agriculture. It explores the uneasy interaction between humanity and the environment, exposing tensions rather than offering solutions.

I draw inspiration from my time outdoors—riding a motorcycle alongside bull elk in the mountains, kayaking through dense fog, nearly being swept away while fly-fishing. These fleeting moments of wonder and risk shape my artistic voice, blending with the rhythms of daily life to inform my work.

I work with wood, metal, and found objects—materials that carry their own histories. My sculptures balance nature’s organic chaos with industrial precision, questioning where we’ve been and where we’re headed. We once sought wisdom from the land; now, we turn to technology in search of rescue. My work lives in that space between nostalgia for what once was and the uncertainty of what could be.
